Tamer Elbaz, MD, is a highly skilled, board-certified interventional pain medicine and anesthesiology specialist dedicated to helping patients find relief from acute and chronic pain. A graduate of SUNY Downstate Medical Center’s anesthesiology program, Dr. Elbaz served as chief resident during his final year—an honor reserved for top-performing physicians. He went on to complete fellowship training in pain medicine at the prestigious Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons/St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, widely regarded as one of the best programs in the tri-state area.
Dr. Elbaz’s career includes leadership roles such as Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship Training Program at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, where he trained physicians in advanced pain management techniques. He currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Columbia University and is a member of the New York State Pain Medicine Committee.
His expertise spans a wide range of interventional procedures for spine, joint, nerve, and musculoskeletal pain. Passionate about innovation, Dr. Elbaz continually pursues emerging treatments to provide his patients with the most effective care possible. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences, sharing his knowledge with pain medicine specialists around the world.
